Copyright and DMCA policy

Last updated:

We respect intellectual property. We respond to notices that comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 512) and to equivalent notices under other laws.

How to send a notice

Use the contact form and choose the topic "Copyright notice". The form then asks for the details listed below.

What a notice must include

  1. Your physical or electronic signature. An electronic signature is fine.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
  3. Identification of the material on this site, including its URL.
  4. Your contact information.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Counter-notification

If you believe material was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notification through the same form. It must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material removed and where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and phone number.
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

After a valid counter-notification, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the person who sent the original notice tells us they have filed a court action.

Misrepresentation

Under 17 U.S.C. 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes a false claim in a notice or counter-notification may be liable for damages.

Repeat infringers

The site has no user uploads. If we ever publish contributed material, we will stop accepting material from anyone who repeatedly infringes copyright.

Forwarding notices

We may forward a notice or counter-notification to the party concerned.
